What Pupstep reads
Steps and walking/running distance update your progress and your pup. Pupstep does not write to Apple Health.
Pupstep waits for Apple Health when today’s steps are not available yet. If you have walked, check Pupstep’s Health access in iPhone Settings.
What stays on your devices
Your companion, bond, memories, personal records and settings are stored on your iPhone. After setup, Apple Watch keeps a local copy of your pup, goals and recent activity so it can show progress while your phone is away. With Health access, the Watch can read its own activity locally.
Pupstep doesn’t keep a copy of your progress on a server. Deleting the app can remove it from your iPhone. Apple purchases can be restored; your walks and memories depend on your iPhone backup.
Choose what you share
A memory can stay just between you and your pup. If you want to share it, preview the postcard first. Some cards start with steps or distance shown; you can hide those numbers and choose where the card goes. Read the Privacy Policy for the full details.
After setup on iPhone, bring your phone or Watch on your walks. Your pup will be waiting when you get back.
